About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Aberdeen . This pivotal role will involve managing and optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from reservoirs, utilizing advanced modeling techniques and data analysis. You will work on complex projects, contributing to strategic decisions that impact the company's production and long-term asset value. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive reservoir management plans to maximize economic recovery.
- Conduct detailed reservoir characterization studies using geological and engineering data.
- Perform material balance calculations, well performance analysis, and decline curve analysis.
- Build and maintain sophisticated reservoir simulation models to predict future performance and evaluate development scenarios.
- Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers to integrate subsurface data and optimize field development strategies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior reservoir engineers within the team.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE).
- Strong understanding of reservoir drive mechanisms, fluid properties, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with data analytics and machine learning applications in reservoir engineering is a plus.
