About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Safety Engineer to join their high-performing, fully remote team, supporting vital offshore energy projects . This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of safety and risk management across all phases of offshore operations, from design and construction to decommissioning. You will leverage your extensive expertise in safety engineering principles, hazard identification, and risk assessment to develop and implement robust safety strategies, safeguarding personnel, assets, and the environment. This is a unique opportunity to work remotely on critical international projects, contributing to a culture where safety is paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including HAZID, HAZOP, and FMEA studies.
- Develop and implement safety management systems and safety cases.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant offshore safety regulations and industry standards.
- Lead incident investigations and develop preventative measures.
- Advise on safety-critical equipment design and operational procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture through training and engagement initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in safety engineering, with a significant focus on the offshore oil and gas or renewables sector .
- In-depth knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment techniques.
- Experience with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessment and functional safety.
- Strong understanding of international safety standards and offshore regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
