About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Scientist in Computational Genomics to join their innovative, fully remote research team. This role is critical for analyzing large-scale genomic datasets to drive biological discovery and support precision medicine initiatives. You will lead complex analytical projects, develop novel computational methods, and collaborate with a diverse group of scientists and clinicians to interpret genetic variations and their impact on health and disease. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis of diverse genomic datasets, including WGS, WES, and RNA-Seq data.
- Develop and implement advanced computational algorithms and statistical models for genomic data interpretation.
- Collaborate with clinicians and biologists to identify genetic variants associated with disease phenotypes.
- Design and maintain scalable bioinformatics pipelines for processing and analyzing genomic data.
- Visualize and communicate complex genomic findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to the publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences.
Requirements
- PhD in Computational Genomics , Bioinformatics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in computational genomics research, preferably with industry or clinical research experience.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, and shell scripting, with experience in bioinformatics libraries and tools.
- Strong understanding of human genetics, molecular biology, and common genomic variant callers and annotation tools.
- Experience working with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and high-performance computing environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
