About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist specializing in Molecular Biology to join their pioneering research team, operating in a fully remote capacity. This role is central to designing and executing advanced experiments that drive our understanding of cellular processes and disease mechanisms. You will play a key role in project planning, data interpretation, and troubleshooting, contributing significantly to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical expertise in molecular biology techniques, a strong scientific curiosity, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment, making a tangible impact from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and execute a wide range of molecular biology experiments, including cloning, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, and cell culture.
- Develop and validate novel assays for the characterization of biological targets and the screening of potential drug candidates.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot unexpected results, and propose alternative approaches.
- Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and contribute to the preparation of scientific reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members across different disciplines and geographical locations.
- Stay current with the latest advancements and technologies in molecular biology and related fields.
Requirements
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related life science discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in molecular biology research, preferably within a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in gene cloning, recombinant DNA technology, and molecular diagnostics.
- Proficiency in various molecular biology techniques and instrumentation.
- Experience working independently and managing multiple experimental projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
