Senior Scientist - Molecular Biology

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist specializing in Molecular Biology to join their pioneering research team, operating in a fully remote capacity. This role is central to designing and executing advanced experiments that drive our understanding of cellular processes and disease mechanisms. You will play a key role in project planning, data interpretation, and troubleshooting, contributing significantly to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics. Key Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and execute a wide range of molecular biology experiments, including cloning, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, and cell culture.
• Develop and validate novel assays for the characterization of biological targets and the screening of potential drug candidates.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot unexpected results, and propose alternative approaches.
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and contribute to the preparation of scientific reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
• Collaborate effectively with team members across different disciplines and geographical locations.
• Stay current with the latest advancements and technologies in molecular biology and related fields.

Requirements

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in molecular biology research, preferably within a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in gene cloning, recombinant DNA technology, and molecular diagnostics.
• Proficiency in various molecular biology techniques and instrumentation.
• Experience working independently and managing multiple experimental projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
