Senior Scientist - Structural Biology

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Scientist specializing in Structural Biology to join their remote-first, innovative research team. This pivotal role will focus on determining the three-dimensional structures of key biological macromolecules, providing critical insights into their function and facilitating drug discovery efforts. You will leverage state-of-the-art techniques, including cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and X-ray crystallography, to solve complex structural challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute structural biology studies using techniques such as cryo-EM , X-ray crystallography, and biophysical methods.
• Develop purification strategies for recombinant proteins and protein complexes.
• Analyze and interpret complex structural data to elucidate molecular mechanisms of action.
• Collaborate closely with computational biologists and medicinal chemists to guide drug design.
• Troubleshoot challenging structural biology experiments and develop innovative solutions.
• Author publications and present findings at international conferences.

Requirements

• PhD in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural biology, with a strong focus on protein structure determination .
• Extensive hands-on experience with cryo-EM and/or X-ray crystallography.
• Proficiency in protein expression, purification, and characterization techniques.
• Experience with structural modeling and visualization software.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for remote team integration.
