About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly creative and technically proficient Senior Sound Designer to lead audio aspects for productions in Coventry . You will be responsible for conceptualizing, creating, and implementing innovative soundscapes that enhance the narrative and emotional impact of our theatrical performances. This pivotal role involves working closely with directors, composers, and other creative team members to achieve a cohesive artistic vision. Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design all sound elements for theatrical productions, including dialogue, music, effects, and ambient soundscapes.
- Operate and maintain sound equipment, including mixing consoles, playback systems, microphones, and speakers.
- Collaborate with directors and composers to interpret scripts and artistic intentions for sound.
- Mix live sound during performances, ensuring clarity, balance, and fidelity.
- Manage sound budgets, procure necessary equipment, and supervise sound crew.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to sound systems during rehearsals and performances.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Sound Designer in theatre or live performance.
- In-depth knowledge of audio engineering principles, acoustics, and sound system design.
- Proficiency with industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and sound design software.
- Experience in mixing live sound reinforcement for theatrical productions.
- Strong creative vision and the ability to translate abstract concepts into sonic realities.
