Senior Telecoms Field Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Telecoms Field Technician to join their operations in the Coventry, West Midlands area. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites and within network infrastructure. You will act as a key point of contact for on-site technical issues, providing expert support and ensuring service continuity. This position requires a dedicated individual with excellent hands-on skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction, working predominantly from various field locations across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installations, upgrades, and repairs of telecommunications systems, including fibre optic and copper cabling.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal equipment placement and network configurations.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults in a timely and efficient manner.
• Liaise with customers to explain technical issues, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction with service delivery.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations while working on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and time spent on each job.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Telecoms Field Technician or similar practical role.
• Proficiency in installing and testing various telecommunications hardware and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of network cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
• Valid UK driving license and a willingness to travel extensively within the designated service area.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
