About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Engineer to join their construction team overseeing a major development project in Glasgow . This hands-on role is crucial for ensuring that construction work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the specified quality standards. You will be responsible for setting out, monitoring progress, and resolving on-site technical issues, working closely with the site management team and subcontractors. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience on a significant project and contribute to the physical development of Scotland's largest city.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately set out the works on site using surveying equipment, ensuring alignment with design drawings and specifications.
- Undertake quality control checks and ensure all work conforms to the project's quality plan and technical requirements.
- Monitor site activities, track progress against the programme, and report any deviations or potential delays.
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, providing guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
- Identify and resolve technical problems and clashes that arise during construction.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, material quantities, and photographic evidence.
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or similar role on construction sites.
- Proficiency with surveying equipment (Total Station, GPS) and relevant software.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and health and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a site team.
