About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join their supportive school community in Manchester, Greater Manchester, UK . This critical role involves ensuring that students with special educational needs receive the appropriate support, resources, and individualized education plans to thrive academically and socially. You will be the key point of contact for parents, teachers, and external specialists, fostering an inclusive environment where every student can reach their full potential. This position is central to upholding the school's commitment to equitable education for all learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure coordinated support for students.
• Provide guidance and training to teaching staff on effective strategies for supporting diverse learners.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and support provided.
• Advocate for the needs of students with special educational requirements within the school.
• Contribute to the school's overall policy development regarding inclusion and special educational needs.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Completion of a recognized SENCO National Award or equivalent training.
• Significant experience working with students with a range of special educational needs.
• In-depth knowledge of the UK SEND Code of Practice.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
