About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to lead their inclusive education efforts at a reputable school in Manchester . In this vital role, you will champion the needs of students with special educational requirements, ensuring they receive the appropriate support and opportunities to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, parents, external agencies, and students to develop and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and foster a truly inclusive school environment. This position offers the chance to make a profound difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs within a supportive and collaborative educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the school's SEND policy and provision in line with current legislation.
• Coordinate the identification and assessment of students with special educational needs.
• Liaise with parents/carers, teachers, and external specialists to ensure a cohesive support strategy.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on SEND best practices and inclusive teaching methodologies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of SEND students and their progress.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the school's inclusive practices.

Requirements

• Recognised teaching qualification and QTS.
• National SENCO Award or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Significant experience in supporting students with a range of special educational needs.
• Thorough understanding of SEND legislation and frameworks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to lead, inspire, and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
