About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join their esteemed building design consultancy in Manchester . This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of architectural projects, from contemporary commercial developments to sensitive heritage restorations. You will be responsible for the structural integrity and design of buildings, ensuring safety, compliance, and aesthetic harmony. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with architects and other consultants to bring innovative building designs to life. This is a chance to make a significant mark on the built environment in the North West.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake the structural analysis and design of building structures using steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports for building projects.
- Conduct structural inspections of existing buildings and provide recommendations for repair or refurbishment.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, British Standards, and Eurocodes.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in building structures design.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognized professional institution, or working towards it.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis) and AutoCAD/Revit.
- Strong knowledge of materials science, construction methods, and relevant design codes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaunt effectively with clients and design teams.
