Subsurface Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Subsurface Geologist to join their fully remote exploration and development team. This position plays a key role in evaluating subsurface potential and supporting asset performance within the oil and gas industry . You will interpret geological data, develop subsurface models, and contribute to prospect generation and field development planning, working collaboratively with a distributed team of experts. This role offers the unique advantage of contributing high-level geological insights without the need for on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate and interpret diverse geological datasets, including well logs, core data, and seismic attributes.
• Construct detailed 3D geological models to characterize reservoir architecture and properties.
• Assess hydrocarbon potential, estimate volumes, and identify risks associated with exploration prospects and producing fields.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to optimize field development strategies.
• Prepare comprehensive geological reports and present findings to technical and management audiences.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in subsurface geology, with significant exposure to exploration or development in the oil and gas sector .
• Proficiency with geological modeling and interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Landmark).
• Strong understanding of stratigraphy, sedimentology, structural geology, and basin analysis.
• Excellent remote communication and teamwork skills, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
