Telecommunications Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Telecommunications Installation Engineer to join their growing team in Derby, Derbyshire . This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment, including network infrastructure, cabling, and related systems for various clients. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity and high-quality service delivery. This is a field-based position offering a great opportunity to work with the latest telecommunications technology and provide essential services within the Installation & Maintenance sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and modems.
• Run and terminate network cabling (Ethernet, fiber optic) according to industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in telecommunications networks and systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on existing infrastructure.
• Read and interpret site plans, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Provide excellent customer service and technical support on-site.

Requirements

• Previous experience in telecommunications installation or network engineering.
• Knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling systems and termination techniques.
• Familiarity with common telecommunications hardware and protocols.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Full UK driver's license and willingness to travel within the Derby region.
