About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Network Engineer to join their expanding network operations team, supporting operations across the Midlands from their base in Nottingham . This role is critical for the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust telecommunications networks, ensuring high levels of performance and reliability for their clients. You will be involved in troubleshooting complex network issues, managing infrastructure upgrades, and contributing to network development strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and maintain telecommunications network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and transmission equipment.
- Monitor network performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
- Respond to and resolve network incidents and service disruptions in a timely manner.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions, ensuring minimal impact on service availability.
- Develop and document network configurations, standards, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other technical teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration and operation of network services.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Telecommunications Network Engineer or a closely related network role.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and telecommunications technologies (MPLS, Ethernet, Fiber optics).
- Experience with network monitoring tools and performance analysis software.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues independently.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills, vital for working within the Nottingham team and with remote field technicians.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
