About the Role
Our client seeks a proactive and technically adept Telecoms Field Technician to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites and network infrastructure points. You will be the face of the company on the ground, delivering exceptional service and technical expertise. Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and commission telecommunications equipment, including fibre optic cables, routers, and antennas, at various client locations.
- Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure to prevent service disruptions.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in telecommunication systems, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Respond to emergency service calls and provide on-site technical support to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including site surveys, installations, and repairs.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while working on-site.
Requirements
- Experience in a similar telecoms installation or maintenance role.
- Proficiency in working with fibre optic splicing, testing equipment, and related tools.
- Knowledge of telecom network architectures and common fault-finding techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- A valid UK driving licence is essential for travel to various sites.
