About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and forward-thinking Telecoms Network Planner to join their strategic team in Reading . This role is essential for the long-term development and capacity planning of our client's telecommunications network infrastructure. You will be responsible for analysing network usage, forecasting future demands, and designing network expansion strategies to ensure optimal performance and scalability. This position requires a deep understanding of network technologies and strategic planning principles within the telecoms industry . You will play a key role in shaping the future infrastructure and ensuring our client remains at the forefront of the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse current network capacity, performance metrics, and traffic patterns to identify trends and potential issues.
- Develop long-term network expansion plans, including infrastructure upgrades and new technology deployments.
- Forecast future network demand based on market trends, business growth, and technological advancements.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure plans are technically feasible and align with business objectives.
- Create detailed network designs and documentation for proposed expansions and upgrades.
- Evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance network efficiency and capabilities.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on network planning initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in telecom network planning , design, or a related engineering role.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications network architectures, including fibre optics, wireless, and IP networking.
- Proficiency in network modeling and capacity planning tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable plans.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable liaising with technical and management teams.
