About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Water Resources Engineer to join their growing team in Leeds . This role is central to the planning, design, and implementation of sustainable water management solutions for urban and rural environments. You will be involved in projects addressing challenges such as flood risk management, water supply, wastewater treatment, and environmental enhancement. Key Responsibilities
- Develop hydraulic models for river systems, drainage networks, and floodplains.
- Design and assess flood defence schemes, drainage systems, and sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS).
- Contribute to water resource management plans, including supply and demand assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and environmental impact assessments.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders on water-related projects.
- Provide technical guidance on water quality and environmental considerations within projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in water resources.
- At least 5 years of experience in water resources engineering, flood risk assessment, or drainage design.
- Proficiency in relevant modelling software such as HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, or similar.
- Good understanding of UK water legislation and environmental regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
