About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their team in Plymouth . You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and integrity of aircraft structures, ensuring they meet rigorous safety and performance standards. This role combines on-site work at our facility with opportunities for remote collaboration, offering a dynamic work environment. You will play a key part in ensuring the structural soundness and reliability of our aircraft fleet, contributing to the safety and success of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of aircraft components and assemblies, including fuselage, wings, and empennage.
- Develop and validate finite element models (FEM) to assess structural integrity under various load conditions.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant aviation regulations and airworthiness requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and maintenance teams to provide structural support and resolve issues.
- Prepare detailed stress reports, design documentation, and technical specifications.
- Stay abreast of new materials, technologies, and analysis techniques in aircraft structures.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in structures.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in aircraft structures design and analysis.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of composite and metallic materials used in aerospace applications.
- Familiarity with fatigue and fracture mechanics principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting at our Plymouth location.
