About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their engineering department in Derby . This role is integral to the structural integrity, design, and analysis of aircraft components and airframes. You will be involved in performing detailed stress analysis, defining structural requirements, and collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to ensure components meet stringent safety and performance standards. This hybrid role allows for essential on-site collaboration while also providing flexibility for detailed analytical work and documentation remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis, including stress, strain, and fatigue analysis, on aircraft structures.
- Design and develop aircraft structural components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with design teams to optimize structural layouts for weight reduction and performance enhancement.
- Develop and validate analytical models using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
- Prepare technical documentation, including stress reports and design justifications for certification.
- Support manufacturing processes and resolve structural issues encountered during production and testing.
Requirements
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related structural discipline.
- Proven experience in aircraft structures design and analysis.
- Proficiency with FEA software (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of aerospace materials, structural mechanics, and failure modes.
- Experience with composite materials and their structural behavior is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
