About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their innovative team in Glasgow . This role is integral to the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft structural components, ensuring the integrity, safety, and performance of the airframe under various flight conditions. You will utilize advanced finite element analysis (FEA) software and collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to develop robust and lightweight structural solutions. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement , combining on-site collaboration with remote analytical work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of aircraft components using FEA software (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS).
- Develop and validate structural models, ensuring they accurately represent real-world loads and operating conditions.
- Contribute to the structural integrity testing and validation programs, including static and dynamic testing.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure the efficient and accurate production of structural components.
- Investigate and resolve structural anomalies or failures, recommending design modifications as necessary.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal reviews and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a strong emphasis on structural mechanics.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft structural analysis and design within the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in FEA software and structural design principles, including stress analysis, fatigue, and fracture mechanics.
- Experience with composite and metallic materials used in aircraft structures.
- Knowledge of relevant aerospace standards and certification requirements for aircraft structures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, essential for a hybrid role involving collaboration across teams in Glasgow .
