About the Role

Our client is seeking a certified and experienced Arborist to join their dedicated tree care team serving Sunderland and the surrounding Tyne and Wear region. This role involves the expert assessment, maintenance, and removal of trees, ensuring the safety and health of both individual trees and the wider urban canopy. You will undertake climbing, rigging, and dismantling operations, providing detailed reports on tree health and risk assessments. This is a vital position for someone passionate about arboriculture, contributing to the environmental well-being and aesthetic appeal of the local community through professional tree management services.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tree climbing, rigging, and dismantling operations safely and efficiently according to industry best practices.
• Conduct thorough tree surveys and risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and recommending appropriate action.
• Provide expert advice on tree health, disease diagnosis, and treatment options.
• Carry out pruning, lopping, and felling of trees, ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding environment.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, and other arboricultural equipment.
• Respond to emergency tree work requests, often under challenging conditions.

Requirements

• Certification from a recognized arboricultural body (e.g., Lantra, NPTC).
• Proven experience as a qualified Arborist , with strong climbing and rigging skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of tree species, biology, diseases, and pests.
• Proficiency in using chainsaws and other relevant arboricultural equipment.
• Valid UK driving license and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
