About the Role

Our client is looking for an organized and proactive Automotive Parts Advisor to join their dynamic team in Edinburgh . This role involves managing the inventory of vehicle parts, assisting technicians and customers with their parts requirements, and ensuring efficient stock control. You will be instrumental in maintaining the smooth operation of the service department by ensuring the right parts are available when needed. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and excellent customer service skills, contributing to a high-performing dealership environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and accurately record incoming parts shipments, checking for discrepancies.
• Maintain an organized and efficient stockroom, implementing stocktaking procedures regularly.
• Identify and source necessary parts for service technicians and retail customers, utilizing electronic parts catalogues and internal systems.
• Process parts orders, invoices, and payments efficiently and accurately.
• Assist customers with parts inquiries, providing knowledgeable advice and recommendations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an automotive parts department or a similar inventory management role.
• Proficiency in using parts management software and electronic catalogues.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage inventory effectively.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A basic understanding of automotive components and their functions.
