About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Chemical Process Engineer with specialized knowledge in polymerization processes. This fully remote role will involve providing technical expertise and support for their polymer manufacturing operations across various sites. You will focus on optimizing polymerization reactions, improving process efficiency, ensuring product quality, and enhancing safety protocols. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a deep understanding of polymer chemistry and process engineering principles to contribute significantly to their global operations from a remote setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize polymerization reactor conditions to improve yield, molecular weight control, and product properties.
- Develop and implement process improvements for monomer feed systems, catalyst handling, and product recovery.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving issues in polymerization plants globally.
- Conduct process safety reviews and develop risk mitigation strategies for polymerization processes.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment for polymer production.
- Analyze process data to identify trends, improve consistency, and reduce operational costs.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science/Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on polymerization technology.
- In-depth understanding of various polymerization mechanisms (e.g., free radical, condensation, ionic).
- Experience with process simulation and modeling tools applied to polymerization.
- Knowledge of polymer characterization techniques and quality control measures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote collaboration.
