Concept Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly creative and talented Concept Artist to join their dynamic art department in Cardiff . You will be responsible for generating compelling visual designs for characters, environments, props, and overall world-building across a variety of exciting projects. This role demands a strong artistic vision, excellent technical skills, and the ability to translate creative briefs into stunning visual concepts. You will play a crucial part in defining the aesthetic direction of our client's productions, working collaboratively with diverse creative teams to bring imaginative worlds to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and vehicles based on project requirements.
• Develop mood boards, color palettes, and style guides to establish the visual direction of projects.
• Collaborate with directors, art directors, and other stakeholders to refine and iterate on designs.
• Research and gather visual references to inform and inspire artwork.
• Ensure designs are practical and achievable for production pipelines.
• Present and articulate design choices effectively to the team.

Requirements

• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional concept art skills in character, environment, and prop design.
• Proficiency in industry-standard digital art software such as Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, or similar.
• Understanding of form, color theory, light, and perspective.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high artistic standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with 3D software (e.g., Blender, ZBrush) is a plus.
