Concept Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly imaginative and skilled Concept Artist to join their creative team in Liverpool . This role is essential for defining the visual identity and aesthetic of our upcoming projects, from characters and environments to props and key art. You will work closely with the art director and game design team to explore and develop unique visual styles, pushing creative boundaries. The ideal candidate has a strong artistic foundation, a passion for visual storytelling, and the ability to produce compelling concept artwork that inspires and guides the rest of the development team in bringing imaginative worlds to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and key art pieces that establish the visual direction of projects.
• Collaborate with the Art Director and Game Designers to explore and define art styles and visual themes.
• Develop detailed sketches, illustrations, and mood boards to communicate artistic vision.
• Iterate on designs based on feedback from the art team and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to the overall visual language and aesthetic coherence of the project.
• Maintain a strong understanding of art history, anatomy, perspective, and color theory.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Concept Artist in the games or entertainment industry.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of concept art, character design, and environmental art.
• Proficiency in digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or similar.
• Excellent understanding of anatomy, perspective, composition, and color theory.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and respond to feedback.
