About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented and imaginative Concept Artist to join their studio in Cardiff . This role is crucial in defining the visual style and direction for upcoming projects, from initial sketches to detailed illustrations. You will work closely with game designers, art directors, and other members of the creative team to visualize characters, environments, props, and key storytelling moments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong artistic foundation and the ability to rapidly iterate on ideas in a collaborative, in-person studio environment. Key Responsibilities

• Create compelling and high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and mood pieces.
• Collaborate with art directors and game designers to develop and refine visual concepts.
• Produce detailed illustrations and orthographics for asset creation pipelines.
• Iterate quickly on designs based on feedback from the team and stakeholders.
• Maintain a consistent artistic style across all concept art deliverables.
• Research and explore diverse visual themes and styles to inform project direction.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Concept Artist in the game development, film, or animation industry.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating a wide range of artistic styles and conceptual thinking.
• Proficiency in digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or similar.
• Excellent understanding of anatomy, perspective, composition, and color theory.
• Ability to work effectively within a studio environment and collaborate closely with a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate design choices.
