Concept Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly imaginative and skilled Concept Artist to join their creative studio in Edinburgh . This role is central to the visual development of our upcoming projects, requiring the creation of compelling artwork that defines the aesthetic, mood, and style of characters, environments, and props. You will work closely with the art director and design teams to translate abstract ideas into tangible visual concepts, setting the artistic direction for the entire production. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented artist to contribute to visually rich and engaging media in a collaborative and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, vehicles, and props according to project requirements.
• Explore and develop various artistic styles and visual themes to establish the project's unique look and feel.
• Collaborate closely with the art director, game designers, and other team members to refine concepts and ensure visual consistency.
• Produce detailed sketches, illustrations, and mood boards to communicate visual ideas effectively.
• Incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders to iterate and improve artwork.
• Maintain an organized digital workflow and manage art assets efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Concept Artist with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital painting and illustration.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or Corel Painter.
• Excellent understanding of anatomy, perspective, color theory, lighting, and composition.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently, meeting deadlines while maintaining high artistic standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to articulate visual ideas clearly to the team in Edinburgh .
• A passion for visual storytelling and a keen eye for detail.
