About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Construction Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Reading . You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment across all their construction projects, developing and implementing robust safety strategies, and promoting a strong safety culture. This role requires diligent monitoring of sites, conducting risk assessments, and providing expert advice to management and site personnel. This position offers a hybrid working model, blending essential site presence with remote administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures on construction sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Provide health and safety training and guidance to site staff and management.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant UK health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and prepare reports for management.
Requirements
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer within the construction sector .
- In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, influencing, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to risk management.
