About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Construction Health and Safety Officer to join their team, supporting projects in the Reading area. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment across all construction sites. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety strategies, conducting site inspections, and providing training to staff. This hybrid role allows for a flexible approach, combining site visits with office-based administrative tasks, ensuring comprehensive safety management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the site's health and safety management system.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend control measures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation and company policies.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and site management on all health and safety matters.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Health and Safety role within the construction industry.
- Relevant qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma in Health and Safety.
- In-depth knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites.
