Construction Health and Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Construction Health and Safety Officer to ensure the highest standards of safety across their projects, primarily operating remotely with site visits as required. This role is fundamental to maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel on construction sites. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture. This is a crucial role for ensuring compliance and protecting the well-being of everyone involved in the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans for construction projects.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, reporting findings and recommending preventative measures.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Relevant qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of construction-specific health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and training skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
