About the Role
Our client is actively searching for a skilled and safety-conscious Drilling Engineer to join their operations team in Cardiff . This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and supervision of drilling operations to ensure they are conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. You will work closely with a dedicated team on-site, managing all aspects of the drilling process from well design to completion. This position requires a strong understanding of drilling technologies and a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards in a demanding operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and design well drilling programs, including casing, cementing, and mud programs.
- Supervise drilling operations on-site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Manage drilling rig operations, equipment, and personnel to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Monitor drilling parameters, identify potential problems, and implement solutions to mitigate risks.
- Conduct post-well analysis and prepare detailed reports on drilling performance and lessons learned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Drilling Engineer or in a similar role.
- Proven experience with various drilling techniques and equipment.
- Strong understanding of well control principles and safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make critical decisions in a field environment.
