About the Role
Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Drilling Engineer to join their operations in Belfast . This role is integral to the planning and execution of safe and efficient drilling operations within the Oil & Gas sector . You will be responsible for designing well plans, managing drilling budgets, and ensuring that all drilling activities adhere to the highest safety standards and regulatory requirements. This hands-on position requires close coordination with rig crews, service providers, and onshore support teams to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and design well trajectories, casing programs, and cementing strategies.
- Develop detailed drilling procedures and contingency plans.
- Manage drilling operations on a day-to-day basis, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Oversee the procurement of drilling equipment and services.
- Monitor drilling performance, analyze key metrics, and implement improvements.
- Conduct post-drilling analysis and lessons learned sessions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling engineering.
- Solid understanding of drilling hydraulics, well control, and directional drilling techniques.
- Experience with drilling software and planning tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
