About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Drilling Engineer to join their operations team in Leeds . This role is crucial for the safe and efficient planning, execution, and supervision of drilling operations within the Oil & Gas sector . You will be responsible for developing detailed drilling plans, managing drilling risks, and ensuring that all operations comply with industry standards and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical background to contribute to challenging projects and drive operational excellence from a key operational hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive drilling programs and procedures, including well design, casing design, and cementing programs.
- Perform calculations and analyses for drilling hydraulics, trajectory control, and wellbore stability.
- Manage drilling risks through Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with various teams, including geologists, reservoir engineers, and service providers, to ensure seamless operations.
- Provide technical support to rig crews, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in drilling engineering roles within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Proficiency in drilling software and well planning tools.
- Solid understanding of well control principles, directional drilling, and managed pressure drilling (MPD) techniques.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with field teams and management.
