About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Drilling Engineer to join their operations team based near Norwich . This role is integral to the safe and efficient execution of drilling operations for exploration and development wells within the Oil & Gas industry . You will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising drilling activities, ensuring that wells are drilled according to technical specifications, budget, and safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to contribute to significant projects in the UK energy sector , working closely with drilling crews and management.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, design, and execute drilling programs for oil and gas wells, optimizing for safety, efficiency, and cost.
Specify drilling equipment, fluids, casing, and cementing programs.
Supervise drilling operations on-site or remotely, ensuring adherence to procedures and best practices.
Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for potential drilling hazards.
Monitor drilling performance, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
Manage drilling budgets and ensure cost control throughout the drilling process.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in drilling engineering within the Oil & Gas industry .
Strong knowledge of drilling operations, equipment, and related technologies.
Experience with drilling simulation software and data analysis.
Familiarity with Well Integrity and HSE regulations in offshore environments.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
