About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Drilling Engineer to join their operations team based near Norwich . This role is integral to the safe and efficient execution of drilling operations for exploration and development wells within the Oil & Gas industry . You will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising drilling activities, ensuring that wells are drilled according to technical specifications, budget, and safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to contribute to significant projects in the UK energy sector , working closely with drilling crews and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and execute drilling programs for oil and gas wells, optimizing for safety, efficiency, and cost.
- Specify drilling equipment, fluids, casing, and cementing programs.
- Supervise drilling operations on-site or remotely, ensuring adherence to procedures and best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for potential drilling hazards.
- Monitor drilling performance, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
- Manage drilling budgets and ensure cost control throughout the drilling process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in drilling engineering within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, equipment, and related technologies.
- Experience with drilling simulation software and data analysis.
- Familiarity with Well Integrity and HSE regulations in offshore environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
