About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Drilling Fluids Engineer to support their operations out of Portsmouth . This essential role involves the design, management, and optimization of drilling fluid systems to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations. You will be responsible for monitoring fluid properties, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to maintain wellbore integrity and performance in the challenging Oil & Gas environment. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of fluid chemistry, rheology, and the practical application of drilling fluids in various geological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Design drilling fluid programs tailored to specific well objectives and geological formations.
Oversee the mixing, testing, and maintenance of drilling fluid systems on drilling rigs.
Monitor drilling fluid performance and analyze data to identify and resolve issues such as lost circulation or formation damage.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to drilling fluids.
Provide technical support and recommendations to drilling crews and management in Portsmouth .
Manage inventory of drilling fluid additives and equipment, ensuring timely procurement.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer or in a related mud engineering role.
Strong knowledge of drilling fluid properties, additives, and their functions.
Familiarity with solids control equipment and techniques.
Experience working on offshore or onshore drilling rigs within the Oil & Gas industry .
Excellent problem-solving abilities and hands-on experience in a field environment in Portsmouth .
