About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Drilling Fluids Engineer to join their operations team based in Coventry . This critical role involves managing and optimizing drilling fluid systems to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling operations. You will be responsible for the design, testing, and implementation of drilling fluid programs, troubleshooting fluid-related issues on location, and providing expert technical support. This position is ideal for a proactive engineer who enjoys hands-on problem-solving and contributing to the success of complex drilling projects within the Oil & Gas sector , offering a blend of office-based analysis and potential site visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement tailored drilling fluid programs based on well conditions and operational requirements.
- Conduct laboratory testing of drilling fluid samples to ensure compliance with specifications and performance standards.
- Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for drilling fluid systems, resolving issues promptly.
- Monitor fluid performance, analyze data, and recommend adjustments to optimize drilling efficiency and minimize non-productive time.
- Maintain accurate records of fluid properties, chemical usage, and operational data.
- Collaborate with drilling engineers and operational personnel to ensure effective fluid management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer or in a similar role within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Proven knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and formation damage mitigation.
- Experience with standard drilling fluid testing equipment and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Good communication skills for reporting and team collaboration.
