About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Drilling Operations Manager to oversee and direct all drilling activities for their onshore and offshore projects in the UK and internationally, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK . This senior leadership role demands extensive experience in managing complex drilling campaigns, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. You will lead a team of drilling engineers and supervisors, making critical decisions regarding drilling plans, equipment, and personnel. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic drilling plans, ensuring alignment with company objectives and project timelines .
• Manage and supervise all aspects of drilling operations, including rig selection, logistics, and personnel deployment.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Oversee the management of drilling budgets, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
• Lead and mentor the drilling team, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting professional development.
• Liaise with partners, regulatory bodies, and service providers to ensure smooth project execution.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in drilling engineering and operations management in the oil and gas industry .
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex onshore and offshore drilling campaigns.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and associated risks.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Relevant certifications such as IWCF Level 4 or equivalent.
• Excellent understanding of contract management and vendor negotiation.
