About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and safety-conscious Drilling Operations Manager to oversee drilling campaigns for their North Sea assets. This role involves a hybrid work model, combining office-based responsibilities in Coventry with the flexibility of remote work. You will be instrumental in planning, executing, and supervising all drilling operations, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex drilling projects and leading high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for all drilling operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage and coordinate drilling crews, service providers, and equipment to ensure seamless execution.
- Oversee the preparation of drilling programs, well designs, and cost estimates.
- Monitor drilling performance, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular safety reviews and ensure adherence to robust HSE policies across all operations.
- Manage the operational budget and report on financial performance of drilling activities.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in drilling operations management within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing diverse operational teams.
- In-depth knowledge of drilling technologies, well control principles, and associated risks.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations and best practices in the oil and gas sector.
- Ability to balance office-based strategic planning with on-site operational oversight.
- Relevant industry certifications and a degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
