About the Role
Our client seeks a highly experienced Drilling Operations Supervisor to oversee and manage all aspects of drilling and completion operations in the Oil & Gas sector , based in or near Birmingham . This pivotal role demands a proactive approach to ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling campaigns, adhering strictly to company policies and industry best practices. You will be responsible for rig site supervision, personnel management, and equipment integrity, ensuring operational excellence and minimizing environmental impact. This is a challenging yet rewarding position for a seasoned professional looking to lead critical field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily drilling operations, ensuring adherence to drilling programs, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Manage and mentor drilling crews, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring all personnel are properly trained and equipped.
- Oversee the selection, mobilization, and operation of drilling rigs and associated equipment, ensuring optimal performance and maintenance.
- Monitor drilling parameters, analyze operational data, and implement corrective actions to maintain drilling efficiency and wellbore integrity.
- Manage drilling budgets, track operational costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising safety or quality.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in drilling operations , with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated expertise in various drilling techniques, well control procedures, and directional drilling operations.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations and best practices in the Oil & Gas industry .
- Proven ability to manage complex logistical challenges and remote operations.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., IWCF Level 3 or 4) and a degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline are highly desirable.
