Drilling Supervisor - Mining

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Drilling Supervisor to oversee drilling operations at various project sites, supporting exploration and production activities in the mining sector . Based near Leeds , this role involves managing drilling crews, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining equipment integrity. The position requires a blend of onsite supervision and remote coordination, working closely with project managers and geologists to meet drilling targets efficiently and safely. This role is essential for gathering critical subsurface data for our mining endeavors.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily drilling operations, including crew management and task delegation.
• Ensure all drilling activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Monitor drilling performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain drilling equipment and ensure timely servicing and repairs.
• Manage inventory of drilling supplies and consumables.
• Liaise with geologists to ensure accurate sample collection and logging.
• Train and mentor drilling crew members on safe work practices and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Drilling Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the drilling industry, preferably in mining.
• Strong knowledge of various drilling techniques (e.g., core drilling, reverse circulation).
• Excellent understanding of drilling equipment and maintenance procedures.
• Certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH) is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing site work with remote planning.
