Mine Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mine Surveyor to join their operations team in Leeds . This position is critical for accurately mapping and measuring mine sites, both underground and on the surface, ensuring precise control for all mining activities. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to establish and maintain survey control, monitor excavations, and provide essential data for mine planning and production. Your work directly influences the safety, efficiency, and success of mining operations, requiring a strong commitment to precision and adherence to strict industry standards. This role is based full-time at our Leeds location.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct surface and underground surveys to establish and maintain accurate mine control.
• Utilize total stations, GPS, drones, and other surveying equipment for data collection.
• Prepare and update mine plans, cross-sections, and volume calculations.
• Monitor and report on excavation progress, subsidence, and ground movement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant surveying standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers and geologists to provide survey support for operations.

Requirements

• Qualified Mine Surveyor or relevant degree/diploma in Surveying or Geomatics.
• Experience in mine surveying , preferably with exposure to both underground and surface operations.
• Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Strong understanding of geodetic principles and coordinate systems.
• Excellent spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in demanding site conditions and as part of a site-based team.
