About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Farm Equipment Technician to ensure the optimal performance and maintenance of their agricultural machinery fleet. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance of a wide range of farm equipment, including tractors, harvesters, and specialized planting machinery. Your expertise will be critical in minimizing downtime and maximizing the operational efficiency of the farm. This is an essential on-site role, requiring practical skills and a commitment to keeping vital agricultural tools in top condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and scheduled servicing on all farm machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Conduct repairs and replace faulty parts on tractors, combines, plows, and other agricultural implements.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Ensure a safe working environment in the workshop and when performing repairs on the farm.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a mechanic, with a strong background in servicing and repairing agricultural equipment.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Possession of own basic tools is advantageous, with specialized tools provided.
• A strong understanding of farm operations and the importance of equipment reliability.
