About the Role
Our client is actively recruiting for a motivated and detail-oriented Helpdesk Support Technician to join their IT department, based in Leeds . You will be the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical difficulties, providing essential support for hardware, software, and network issues. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's internal IT infrastructure, empowering staff to perform their duties without disruption, and maintaining a productive work environment across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network problems.
- Respond promptly to support requests via phone, email, and ticketing system, maintaining excellent response times.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Assist with user account management, including setup, password resets, and access permissions.
- Diagnose and resolve common IT issues, escalating more complex problems to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and inventory within the helpdesk system .
Requirements
- Previous experience in a helpdesk or IT support role is essential.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and common software applications.
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting principles and basic network configuration.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users.
- Proficiency in using remote support tools and ticketing software .
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new technologies.
