About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Horticulturalist to contribute to their horticultural projects in Coventry, West Midlands . This role involves the cultivation, care, and management of diverse plant collections, ensuring optimal growing conditions and aesthetic appeal. You will work closely with a team of groundskeepers and botanical experts to maintain and develop horticultural displays, research new plant species, and contribute to educational outreach programs. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, plant, and maintain a variety of ornamental and native plants, ensuring optimal growth and health.
• Manage soil health, irrigation systems, and pest/disease control using sustainable practices.
• Conduct regular plant health assessments and implement appropriate treatment and care strategies.
• Assist in the design and development of new garden areas and horticultural displays.
• Operate and maintain horticultural equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and specialized planting tools.
• Contribute to horticultural research, record-keeping, and educational activities for visitors and staff.

Requirements

• A qualification in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
• Proven practical experience in ornamental horticulture and plant care.
• Knowledge of plant identification, propagation techniques, and integrated pest management.
• Ability to operate horticultural machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
• Good understanding of soil science and sustainable gardening practices.
