About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Horticulturalist to join their team in Cardiff , contributing to the development and maintenance of beautiful and sustainable green spaces. This role involves hands-on plant care, garden design input, and the management of horticultural projects within various settings, including public parks, botanical gardens, and private estates. You will be instrumental in ensuring the health, vitality, and aesthetic appeal of diverse plant collections, working collaboratively with landscape architects and groundskeeping staff. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, plant, and maintain a wide variety of ornamental and native plant species.
• Monitor plant health, identify pests and diseases, and implement integrated pest management strategies.
• Manage irrigation systems, soil fertility, and nutrient programs for optimal plant growth.
• Contribute to the design and development of new garden areas and landscaping projects.
• Operate and maintain horticultural equipment, including mowers, strimmers, and specialized planting tools.
• Supervise and train junior horticultural staff or volunteers as needed.

Requirements

• A recognized qualification in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of practical experience in a professional horticultural setting.
• Knowledge of plant identification, propagation, and cultivation techniques.
• Familiarity with organic gardening principles and sustainable practices.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
