About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Horticulturalist to join their team in the vibrant city of Cambridge . This role involves the cultivation, management, and care of a wide variety of plants, flowers, and trees within botanical gardens, research facilities, or agricultural settings. You will be responsible for planning planting schemes, maintaining plant health, managing pests and diseases, and ensuring the aesthetic appeal and ecological balance of designated horticultural areas. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and maintain planting schemes for diverse horticultural environments.
• Cultivate and care for plants, including watering, fertilizing, pruning, and propagation.
• Identify and manage pests, diseases, and weeds using integrated pest management strategies.
• Operate and maintain horticultural equipment, tools, and machinery.
• Conduct soil analysis and implement appropriate soil management techniques.
• Advise on plant selection, placement, and care to ensure optimal growth and display.

Requirements

• A qualification in Horticulture, Botany, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in practical horticulture, including plant care, propagation, and landscape maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of plant identification, physiology, and horticultural best practices.
• Familiarity with pest and disease management techniques.
• Ability to operate horticultural machinery and tools safely and effectively.
• Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
