About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and skilled Horticulturalist to join their team in Belfast . This role is central to the cultivation, care, and development of a diverse range of plants, from ornamental gardens to productive food crops. You will be responsible for ensuring the health and vitality of all plant life, implementing innovative horticultural techniques, and contributing to the aesthetic and functional landscape. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a deep appreciation for plants and a desire to contribute to the beauty and sustainability of green spaces in Northern Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, plant, and maintain gardens, greenhouses, and other horticultural areas according to established designs and seasonal requirements.
• Identify and treat plant diseases, pests, and disorders using integrated pest management strategies.
• Cultivate, propagate, and nurture a wide variety of plant species, ensuring optimal growing conditions.
• Operate and maintain horticultural equipment, tools, and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Advise on plant selection, landscape design, and horticultural best practices.
• Manage irrigation systems and fertilization programs to ensure plant health and vigor.

Requirements

• Proven experience in horticulture , with a strong knowledge of plant science and cultivation techniques.
• Demonstrated ability in plant identification, disease/pest diagnosis, and treatment.
• Experience with a range of horticultural equipment and tools.
• A relevant qualification in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field is required.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail in plant care.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
