About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Automotive Diagnostic Technician to manage their busy service center in Birmingham . This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of vehicle repair and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, leading a team of technicians, and maintaining the workshop's operational efficiency. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in advanced diagnostics, a passion for automotive excellence, and the leadership skills to guide a team towards achieving exceptional service outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics on a wide range of vehicle makes and models, utilizing specialized equipment and software.
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to a team of automotive technicians, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in repairs.
- Interpret diagnostic data, technical manuals, and repair schematics to identify root causes of vehicle malfunctions.
- Manage workshop workflow, prioritize repair orders, and ensure timely completion of all service tasks.
- Conduct quality control checks on completed work and ensure customer satisfaction with repairs and service.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Expertise in vehicle electrical systems, engine management, and advanced diagnostic procedures.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and automotive software.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills to liaise with customers and team members.
