About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Livestock Manager to oversee the health, welfare, and productivity of their livestock operations near Reading . This role demands a comprehensive understanding of animal husbandry, breeding programs, and efficient farm management practices. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement breeding programs to optimize livestock genetics and productivity.
• Oversee daily feeding, watering, and health management routines for all livestock.
• Monitor animal health closely, implementing preventative care measures and managing treatments.
• Ensure compliance with all animal welfare regulations and industry best practices.
• Manage a team of livestock workers, providing training, supervision, and performance management.
• Maintain accurate records of livestock movements, health treatments, and production data.
• Manage inventory of feed, bedding, and veterinary supplies.

Requirements

• Significant experience in livestock management , preferably in a supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of animal husbandry, nutrition, and veterinary care.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Strong understanding of breeding cycles and reproductive technologies.
• Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills.
• Relevant qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field.
