About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Livestock Manager to oversee all aspects of their livestock operations in Belfast . This role is critical for ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of the animals under our client's care. You will manage a team, implement best practices in animal husbandry, and maintain high standards of biosecurity and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of animal science and a passion for ethical and sustainable livestock farming, contributing significantly to the success of our agricultural enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily care, feeding, and health monitoring of all livestock.
- Implement and enforce biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks.
- Oversee breeding programs and ensure optimal reproductive performance.
- Supervise and train farmhands involved in livestock operations.
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, movements, feed consumption, and production.
- Ensure compliance with all animal welfare regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in livestock management, with a strong understanding of animal husbandry.
- Knowledge of animal health, nutrition, and reproductive cycles.
- Experience in managing and motivating a team.
- Familiarity with relevant agricultural regulations and best practices.
- Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
- A degree or diploma in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
